I didn’t like the new modern twist he used. I didn’t think really like it at all

Nothing new. The solo with that phaser was horrible. Don’t cover it, do something with it. Toto is one of the most underrated bands, songwriters and musicians ever, yet were stuck with rap crap and hippity hop shoved in our faces. They have a huge library of great songs but no one in the US gets past Africa, Roseanna and maybe Hold the Line. Sad, because they are brilliant.

When you can’t write new music... why not destroy a classic. Shameful
  • Great cover!

  • Toto fans simmer down

We ALL had a heart attack when we heard this existed. But then, you grow up and listen to this song as it’s meant- a tribute. NOT to challenge the original. A freakin fan request honored. How often does that happen? The founder of Toto endorsed it before and after. HE said he was impressed. NO ONE from either side said it was better than the original. Toto will always be the definitive. Chill out. It’s a great song that was covered well. Stop making challenges where they don’t exist. Just be happy Toto is being exposed to a new generation. SHARE for heavens sakes. At first the vocals scared me. I thought it was going to be auto tune nation. But, I took a breath and listened to the African instruments that are SPOT on and just slid into it from there. We’ve all heard karaoke versions of this- they sound like horrible juvenile imitations of what the real song sounds like. This song does it justice.
